Extra Yachts, a subsidiary brand of Italy’s ISA Yachts, has released the design for its new X30 power catamaran. The 30m catamaran concept, named the X30 VILLA, features interior and exterior design by Dutch firm Phathom.
The new X30 is the first catamaran design by Extra, which has brought its own unique design ideas to the luxury motoryacht market. The exterior styling makes extensive use of panoramic glass, large social areas and open concept stern for easier sea access. The interior features an open plan, multi-level layout that makes use of the 13.7m beam on the X30.
Extra plans to use a hybrid propulsion system on the new X30, with solar cells embedded in the extensive windows to help produce extra electricity for the hotel load. The new yacht is also expected to incorporate sustainable materials such as repurposed fibres, alternative leathers and reclaimed woods.
The main engines for the new X30 are twin Volvo Penta IPS 1350s paired with two 35kW generators. Extra expects the X30 to have a cruising speed of 12.5 knots.
A multifunctional high/low platform supports a 5+ metre tender and all the water toys. The platform can also be aligned with the swim platforms to create a large beach area. The current layout offers VIP cabins with direct access to the transom.
The interior has a main deck with extra high ceilings and large panoramic windows to maximise outdoor views while letting in natural light. Extra plans several options on the interior layout, including having the galley on the main deck or below.
The owner’s cabin features a relaxation area with sofas and an accommodation area positioned in the center, while a spa bathroom is on a lower level and has been split to port and starboard.
The master stateroom terrace overlooking the sea may be lowered in calm waters to offer exceptional views while retaining maximum privacy. With the terrace in dropped-down position, the glass doors close it off to provide protection from wind and bad weather.
