Amal Yachting facilitates the deal for the Ferretti flagship
| 17 January 2022
Ferretti Group has announced the sale of a new Ferretti Yachts 1000 to a buyer in Taiwan. The Ferretti Yachts 1000 is the new flagship of the Ferretti Yachts line. The yacht was purchased by an experienced owner who will be cruising around Taiwan and also plans to cruise to Japan “whenever possible.”
The sale was facilitated by Amal Yachting, a leading yacht dealer in Taiwan and the exclusive dealer for Ferretti Yachts in Taiwan. Amal Yachting is headed by former naval architect Tee Tzer-Yu, who co-founded Amal Yachting in 2014. Tee has said that Taiwan buyers prefer a lot of living space onboard, and that Japan is popular destination. Tee was recently featured as a “one to watch” in 2022.
Ferretti Group says that the 1000 will be the first new superyacht to be imported to the island.
Taiwan has been a major yacht building hub for decades, but it is only recently that the island’s yacht market has developed, thanks in part to Covid restrictions on travel. Marina developments, though often tangled in bureaucracy, seem to be picking up in pace as developers eye the new potential. However, the growing popularity of charter within Taiwan, particularly to destinations such as the Penghu Islands, have boosted yacht ownership.
The Ferretti Yachts 1000 is the new flagship of the Ferretti line, launched in the spring of 2021. The yacht features an innovative layout, which includes a flybridge with direct access to the bow lounge area. The yacht has a range of just over 300 nautical miles, putting destinations such as Japan’s southern Ryukyu Islands within reach.
