Princess X95Princess Yachts Greater China has delivered the second Princess X95 into Hong Kong.

The first model of the new ‘superfly’ X95 from the British builder arrived into the SAR last year. It is the first Princess designed by Pininfarina, an Italian studio known for its automotive designs for the likes of Ferrari and Maserati.

The X in X95 indicates expedition, according to Princess Yachts, who says the X95 should have a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, thanks to its new hull design.

The hull of the X95 features a new wave-piercing bow that extends the waterline forward and provides a fine, high deadrise entry. The hull surfaces are extended aft under the swim platform. This boosts fuel efficiency by about 18 per cent compared to a similar-sized yacht on an existing Princess hull, according to Princess Yachts Director of Design, Andy Lawrence.

Two more X95s are due to arrive in Hong Kong this year.

General manager Adam Waters tells Asia-Pacific Boating: “We’re thrilled at the arrival of the second X95 in Hong Kong. This vessel is a new standard of layout excellence with a super flybridge which is not only eye-catching and unique but provides 10 per cent more outdoor space and 40 per cent more indoor space, making it ideal for year-round use in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong market remains strong and we are looking forward to delivering two more X95s this year.”
