Second edition of B2B event takes place at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina
| 13 May 2021
The second Thailand Charter Week will take place from November 12-15, 2021, at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina.
The B2B event is organised by the Thai Yachting Business Association (TYBA) and is open exclusively to charter brokers, central agents, travel agents and tour operators who are aimed at promoting Thailand as an international charter destination.
The first edition of the event took place in November 2019 at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina, with yachts also hosting familiarisation cruises in Phang Nga Bay and surrounding areas. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to Covid.
The preliminary plan for this year’s Charter Week is for the opening ceremony to commence from 5pm on November 12, followed by two days of on and off water displays at the Phuket Yacht Haven. On November 15, all yachts will participate in a cruise in company to Phang Nga Bay before returning to the Yacht Haven marina for the closing party.
Matthew Na Nagara, Chairman of TYBA, is confident the second edition could become larger than the first edition, with more space for yachts and word-of-mouth recommendation from exhibitors and attending brokers.
“The Thailand Charter Week was a strong first edition of what will become a regular and important part of the yachting calendar in Southeast Asia. We’re happy with the general format, the line-up of yachts and exhibiting charter companies, and the wide range of attending brokers from around the world.”
“Phuket Yacht Haven and the fam trips showed the appeal of charter holidays in and around Thailand, so we were delighted the Tourism Authority of Thailand was among our sponsors. We’re now helping develop connections made during the week and looking to get more space for exhibiting yachts next year, so we can make the second edition even better.”
The website for the Thailand Charter Week 2021 will be unveiled in the coming months, with further details. More information can be requested by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
